Aviation as a fashion reference gets a little formulaic. A little “Huff! Just how many variations on flight jackets can there be? And pilot goggles? Really? Seriously?” But Kenzo’s creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim have thought outside the box – quite literally – for AW13, by focusing on the out-of-the-window airplane experience. This meant variations on beautiful tumbling clouds in prints and a palette that (okay, back inside) felt born of vintage interiors.
