Have you ever imagined wearing art? Wearable art created by the likes of Sacai’s Chitose Abe and contemporary artist Brian Donnelly aka Kaws? An unexpected collaboration, to say the least, but this hype-worthy pairing is worth raving about.
Frech from Abe’s Gaultier Paris couture collection last week, this team-up marks the pair’s friendship and life-long admiration for one another – combining Kaws’ original artwork with Sacai’s deconstructive design codes.
The exclusive collaboration includes a range of 24 pieces for men, women, and children that will have the whole family suited and booted in camouflage and multi-coloured motifs. Brightly coloured puffer jackets, cozy knits, pleated skirts, shirts, blousons, and even bibs are decked out with Kaws’ graffiti-style art, featuring the artist’s “XX” logo splattered across eye-catching Sacai designs. There’s even a joint Nike Blazer Low collaboration from the pair, hitting stores later this year.
Catch this Sacai x Kaws collaboration at Dover Street Market and select pop-up stores worldwide starting July 16 and online exclusively on Sacai’s e-store on July 17.
