A first glimpse of the new Giorgio Armani campaign has us all wanting to get a new cut. Gone are the sweeping curtains that once framed the iconic face of Kate Moss, now replaced with a bold block fringe and choppy bob. The Giorgio Armani AW19 campaign is an unexpected first for the model, who of late has been busy running her modelling agency, which she is also represented by. Taking in other heartthrobs such as Gwendoline Christie and Rita Ora, the model is back on the forefront of fashion with this new partnership. It’s hard to believe she hasn’t been the face of the Italian house before – but better late than never.
Monochromatic moments remind us of what made the blonde bombshell the icon we love today. The campaign – shot by her favourites Mert & Marcus – emphasises Moss’ striking bone structure with the use of boxy shoulders and angular sunglasses, all whilst simultaneously throwing us back to her Calvin Klein days with a glimpse of skin underneath. Turning looks from high-tailored executive realness into evening gown eleganza extravaganza – this is just another proof of Kate Moss’ versatile looks. Blue hues emulate as the model is seen in a double-pocketed metallic shirt, suitable for any old town road, or a western-style drive down the Amalfi Coast. Continuing the theme of rhapsody in blue from their ready to wear collection last year, these shots have given us a gentle nudge to stay on our toes when it comes to the future of this partnership.
