The fashion industry still mourns the death of a genius. Seven month after Karl Lagerfeld’s passing, style advisor to his eponymous label, Carine Roitfield, has curated a touching project to honour the late designer. Tribute to Karl Lagerfeld: The White Shirt Project sees Roitfeld; alongside six other industry leaders, all lending their artistic hand to a white shirt in honour of Lagerfeld. Contributors include Tommy Hilfiger, who’s dyed the sleeves his signature shades of red and blue and Cara Delevigne, who dotted her shirt with a jungle of animals – the lion sketch mimicking her own tattoo on her finger. Supermodel of the world Kate Moss chose to write a tender poem on her shirt, whilst Carine Roitfield nipped hers in at the waist to mimic a corseted silhouette.

“It’s hard to think of Karl and not imagine him wearing his iconic white shirt,” says Pier Paolo Righi – CEO of the Karl Lagerfeld brand. “By inviting his friends and family to customise their own bespoke designs, they have been able to express their personal memories, anecdotes and experiences.” Partnering exclusively with Farfetch, each shirt is set to cost €777 (roughly £688). All of the proceeds will be donated to Sauver la Vie, a charity which provides financial support to the Paris Descartes University medical research department. It’s a win-win – donate to a great cause and look bloody great doing it.

The seven shirt designs will be available from September 26th on Karl Lagerfeld and Farfetch.
