Only for Saint Laurent. “Shiny shiny, shiny boots of leather, whiplash girhchild in the dark,” the Velvet Underground & Nico’s Venus in Furs rings out so eerily right, that sliding riff and tambourine keeping the beat to this biker girl turned hippie out in the wild. Low waisted, belted skinny jeans and unbuttoned shirt with bandana, rocked so well. It was a collection that was dark, hard, fast, that slyly glittered under the Eiffel Tower but it’s elsewhere, away from Paris and perhaps into the dark underground of New York… Yes, there’s a pounding heartbeat to this collection, to Kaia so casually cool. Gloomy, old rockstar glamour, wind whipping, howling, hair flying. Clearly this campaign is taking us places.
