This year would’ve been Tom of Finland’s 100th birthday, and we’ve been celebrating in style. Back in March, to mark the opening of Tom of Finland: Love and Liberation at The House of Illustration, 10 joined forces with the Tom of Finland foundation for an after-party of epic proportions. JW Anderson has teamed up with the Tom of Finland foundation for a limited-edition capsule collection of Tom of Finland-inspired goodies. Anderson became infatuated with Finland’s work through collecting issues of Physique Pictorial, the Bob Mizer-edited zine that actually christened the artist his moniker.
The designer was particularly drawn to The Saddle Thief, a lesser-known series by the artist, and used one work created in 1958 to create the capsule, which is only being sold online and at the brand’s Soho flagship store in London. Finland’s hyper-masculine hunks can be seen on a felt tote bag equipped with leather handles and a printed neoprene visor. The collection also features one of JW Anderson’s signature penis keyrings, now dipped in black leather and adorned with piercing after piercing.
