Pull up to the bumper, baby. You’ve seen it all over the ‘gram but, at last, the JW Anderson Bumper bag is here. My god, isn’t she gorgeous? Teased by Mr Jonathan Anderson himself over the last few months, the cartoonish beauty has carved itself out as the namesake label’s new It bag. First debuted as part of the brand’s SS22 collection, the Bumper comes with a swollen trim, as if it’s been blown up with air, splashed in candy colours that’ll leave you with a sugar rush. We’re talking bubble gum pinks, baby blues, the lot.
The Bumper comes in a series of silhouettes. There’s the Bumper bag, a slender little thing that’ll look rather splendid tucked under your arm as you stumble out of the club. There’s also the Bumper Moon, bent into a crescent shape, and the cylinder Bumper Hobo, equally as terrific. What’s more, the designer has already introduced new variations of the Bumper in his AW22 collection – a collaboration with 1980s Korean cartoon, Run Hany, no less.
