To the world of a Mr Julien David, London-based (soon we hear) fashion designer extraordinaire, who dresses rather cool types in Japan. And in London, too. His collection goes down a treat in Dover Street Market.
A pacy play on super-creased tailoring, cut to within an inch of its life, and wide cotton and cropped flappy chinos in a marvellous abstract floral print (wonderfully ‘50s kitchen curtain) and matching shorts are top of our shopping list next season. And one pair of brown-ish cords drew a gasp from a certain Mr Richard Gray of The Sunday Times who declared them “Divine!”. He’d be right.
