Never know what to say about Monsieur Alaïa that doesn’t sound like a total cliche – yes, he is a genius, yes, he changed the course of fashion and yes, to say we are superfans is an understatement (removing our Editrix-in-Chief Sophia’s Alaïa heels would probably cause effects similar to severing one of her organs – a proper one, not like a kidney or appendix). But there is a man behind all of that – a man we’ve been lucky enough to encounter as his French maison is our home away from home in Paris – a man who also is the subject of this intimate documentary made by super stylist and long-time collaborator Joe McKenna in his very first film.
