I was once told that I was heavy-footed by a downstairs neighbour. Duly offended, I moved out not long afterwards. But thanks to those brilliant minds at Jil Sander, I no longer have reason to be ashamed – their Autumn Winter show proved that being heavy-footed is squarely back en vogue. Just take a look at those wonderful shoes – they feature not one, but two soles; a nightmare for downstairs neighbours everywhere, a dream for the rest of us. It’s the weight of them that’s satisfying, the rubber sole and no-fuss design perfectly balancing form and function like Jil Sander of old. Coming in red, black and a fetish-y hospital white, it’s time to tip-toe no more – this season it’s all about stomping those feet with pride.
