The Jil Sander woman gravitates towards clothes rooted in a monastic minimalism. This season husband and wife designers Lucie Meier and Luke Meier added the functionality of uniforms into that pared down mix. The opening look, a leather tunic and wide trousers in soft, chewing gum coloured leather, had the look of a set of upscale medical scrubs. Oversize shirts, of the sort that a UPS delivery driver might wear, featured strongly and looked fresh when paired with floppy pleated cotton skirts and wooden soles platforms. And for the practically minded minimalist (the kind of woman who wields power tools with confidence) a chic navy cotton boiler suit was just the thing. There were moments of prettiness too with lean cotton crochet tunics worn over floppy trousers. Add a giant comical shopper and you have the look.
