We’ve just received word, via WWD, that Jil Sander have confirmed the much rumoured appointment of Luke and Lucie Meier as the brand’s new Creative Directors. You may notice that the pair share a surname, which would be because they are married. Aw. “We feel proud and honored to join this beautiful brand,” they said this morning. “We hope to show the affection we have for this brand through our work, as Jil Sander has had such a profound influence on our paths.” So who are the Meiers? You might recognise Lucie from her short stint at the house of Dior alongside Serge Ruffieux, taking over the house after Raf Simons departed and before the appointment of Maria Grazia Chiuri. Luke is former Creative Director of Supreme and more recently founded menswear label OAMC in 2015. The pair will work on the men’s and women’s collections together at Jil Sander, showing them in a co-ed presentation in Milan this September. Congrats from all at Ten Towers.
