Dior beauty just got a whole lot bolder, thanks to a fresh new face. Stepping onto the beauty scene as Dior Makeup’s international beauty ambassador is none other than Jenna Ortega. An American actress known for her sharp wit, smoky stare and that unmistakable Wednesday mystique, Ortega is the modern muse Dior didn’t know it needed – until now.
Ortega, who skyrocketed to global fame as the deliciously deadpan Wednesday Addams in Netflix’s Wednesday, brings her signature mix of gothic charm and Gen Z grit to the world of high beauty. This isn’t her first time brushing up against the house of Dior though – she’s previously donned its fashions on global red carpets – and now she’s taking up a starring role in its makeup story. “The house of Dior symbolises audacity, elegance and timelessness, and being part of it is both incredibly exciting and surreal,” says Ortega.
Fresh off of her return to Wednesday Season 2 and a chocka schedule for the year ahead – Tim Burton‘s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Alex Scharfman‘s Death of a Unicorn, a collab with The Weeknd on his Hurry up Tomorrow music video and a starring role opposite Natalie Portman in the upcoming thriller The Gallerist – Ortega is everywhere. And now, she’s painting the town pink with Dior’s best new products, from the blush she swipes across her cheek in her portrait to the liquid gloss that lacquers her lips. Reflecting on her earliest beauty memories, she shares, “The first time I wore lipstick, I must have been 10 or 11 and it was for work, because I started acting when I was so little. I was wearing my mom’s lipstick, we were just in the bathroom of the studio and she put it on me.”
Now, under the creative eye of Peter Philips – Dior Makeup’s visionary creative and image director – the actress is set to bring a fresh, fearless edge to the house’s timeless glamour.
