Body piercing is, as our friends at Wikipedia inform us, a form of body modification. “The practice of puncturing or cutting a part of the human body, creating an opening in which jewellery may be worn. Some people pierce for religious or spiritual reasons, while others pierce for self-expression, for aesthetic value, for sexual pleasure, to conform to their culture or to rebel against it.” Obviously, anything you can stick a needle through is pierceable, even your eyeballs, apparently. Which, as much as they might be in need of some adornment – let’s be honest, eyelashes are rather common – sounds rather painful.
