Iris Van Herpen Paris Fashion Week Aw15 Backstage Girls

There’s never a dull moment at Iris van Herpen. But then 3-D printed clothes, rock-crystal high heels, laser-cut leather and handwoven fabrics never equate to a dull moments, do they? As usual, Iris blurred the lines between fashion and sculpture and push the boundaries of textiles. The collection was about ‘terraforming’ which in layman terms (which I learnt through a brief Wiki-tutorial) means making the atmosphere of another planet like ours. ”The whole concept of terraforming started in science fiction, but it has become a reality. “It made me think about what is our space? Should we do it? The collection is mainly my fantasy of what we would do,” the designer told Style.com. The whole thing felt very Bjork. Or, alternatively, very Grimes. Some futuristic fashion fiend anyway.
