Watches do more than tell the time these days, we are told. Like the Apple Watch, which basically helps run your entire or something. This sounds like something we probably need. Why do we not own one yet? Well, we’ve never quite sure how to accessorise such a piece with our outfits. We’re quite fussy you see. So, the clever brains at Apple have come up with a solution for us – they have teamed up with Hermès, a house famed for their impeccable accessory design to make timepiece offspring, the Apple Watch Hermès. A translantic marriage made in heaven, we would say. “Apple and Hermès make very different products, but they reflect the deep appreciation of quality design,” said Jonathan Ive, Apple’s chief of design. Pierre-Alexis Dumas from Hermès concurs, “I see it as the establishment of an alliance in excellence; like horse and carriage, a perfect team.” And what of the watch itself? Well, the strap is finest Hermès leather. Apple’s stainless steel case is etched with the Hermès signature. And, because nobody wants to be caught wearing the same thing, Hermès have been kind enough to create three different styles – the single tour, double tour and the cuff. No more excuses not to get with the times.
The watch will be available at selected Apple and Hermès stores.
