Iceberg: Menswear Spring/Summer 2019

Ice(berg) Ice(berg) baby. Yes, it was cold in here, there was obvs some Iceberg in the atmosphere. Cooler than cool. Ice cold. Now that we’ve got all that out of the way, let’s focus on the important things: the clothes at Iceberg’s Spring/ Summer 2019 show that just kicked off London Fashion Week Men’s as Creative Director James Long brought the Italian label to his hometown for the first time. Iceberg feels good in London, in all its luxe streetwear sportiness that would also be right at home in a club. It began with Lil’ Kim and Mr Cheeks ‘The Jump Off’ and the vibe was confirmed. Iceberg was slashed across the front of matching tracksuit sets, fulfilling all our early 2000s That’s Hot vibes. The Pink Panther was on the prowl and Snoopy and Charlie Brown were floating down cartoon strips on swim shorts that felt right on such a vividly good collection. Iceberg’s sponsorship of the US Grand Prix back in the ‘90s was revived here, the Iceberg print used back then on podiums now reworked here in a new element. These ladies and gentlemen had the need for speed, further powered forward in what they’re calling sports drink colours. Yes, give us all the energy. It was all in the knits, duh, which were technical, woven, light and bright. It’s Spring Summer babes. Girls were partying it up in crops and mini skirt sets, elevated in multicoloured perspex heels. Lewks on lewks. Denim was crystallised and glimmering and ripped. A melting pot of everything we want right now. Iced out. Let the games begin.
