Hood by Air are taking a break. In news that broke this morning, Shayne Oliver and Leilah Weinraub have announced that their NY-based brand is being put on hold whilst they concentrate on their own projects – namely Oliver designing a collection for newly re-jigged Helmut Lang and Weinraub directing an upcoming film. “Co-founders Shayne Oliver and Leilah Weinraub will be focusing on their current projects,” said the release. “Weinraub is currently developing her film and directorial career with her upcoming project ‘SHAKEDOWN,’ included in the Whitney Biennial in May. Oliver will be devoting himself in the immediate future to his responsibilities at Helmut Lang.” Good news is that Oliver and Weinraub have said it is just a hiatus – insisting that they “will continue to fulfill its creative vision in the near future.” Here’s hoping the pair won’t be away too long. Though they do say that absense makes the heart grow fonder…
