Holzweiler: Ready-To-Wear SS24

Nothing says ‘welcome to London!’ like a spot of shit weather. Though even a light shower couldn’t dampen the mood at Holzweiler’s first show in the capital, staged in a vast, nature reserve hidden within London’s Kings Cross. The Norwegian brand usually shows during Copenhagen Fashion Week, where founding siblings, Susanne and Andreas Holzweiler, and creative director Maria Skappel-Holzweiler, have made their mark with quietly elegant clothes designed to be lived in.

The brand’s green-fingered excursion to the capital felt apt. The collection, dubbed Rewilding, was described by the brand as “a manifesto of the Norwegian way of life, one which celebrates reintegration into nature, and travels joyfully through the nomadic, the explorative and the urban.” Throughout, a collision of street-ready bohemianism and utilitarian wear was present. Crocheted dresses came with wispy ties that danced along the floor; sporty-inflected tailoring was paired alongside cool, stonewash denim and a procession of handkerchief dresses, cargo pants and chunky knits dazzled in delightful shades of lilac, green and pink. Come rain or shine, this season’s Holzweiler wardrobe shaped up to be a divine mash up of functionality and serene beauty.
