Hermès: Menswear SS26

While most of us long for the escape of idyllic beachside resorts by the time July arrives, Hermès’ Véronique Nichanian has other things on her mind. She built her latest men’s collection around the thrill of dressing for summer in the city.

Nichanian created gorgeous, unfussy clothes that would get you excited about venturing out into the blazing heat that is currently cooking gridlocked Paris. Like open-weave leather trousers, for instance, paired with open-toe sandals, or loose shirting with exaggerated lapels that came buttoned at the navel. Easy-going, ever so elegant.

All in a delicious palette of gentle greys, coffee brown, camel and a subtle blue excellently christened in the Hermès show notes as “ice cube”, these were clothes laced with an effortless coolness. It’s what Nichanian does best. What she also excels at is creating a seriously ace bag. This season’s monkey tote bags, canvas holdalls and a series of stacked, supersized leather showstoppers would be excellent company for a day venturing around the city.
