Fash flash (fashion news flash)! Hermes’s artistic director of womenswear, Christophe Lemaire has left the house after four years in the role. Since his appointment in 2010 (taking over from Jean Paul Gaultier, Lemaire has produce seven stellar collections for the house. “Working for Hermes has been a great pleasure,” the designer told Vogue.co.uk this morning. “[It has been] a profoundly enriching experience on both human and professional levels. I’m proud of what we have built together.” Lemaire’s decision was driven by his desire to concentrate on his own label telling Vogue, “My own label is growing in an important way and I now really want and need to dedicate myself to it fully.” The designer will show his swansong collection for the brand during Paris Fashion Week this October.
