Audible gasps from work stations in 10 Towers this morning. Reading on The Telegraphs website that Helmut Lang has shred 6000 pieces from his archive! Our immediate response? How selfish! We would have happily taken them off his hands! But in all seriousness this was an artistic endeavour, Helmut will be transforming the tatters of these garments into a dozen ’ stalactite- like pieces’ according to WWD. All part of Helmut’s solo exhibition ‘Make it Hard’ which will open on 22nd July in East Hampton NY. You may well shed a tear at this fashion sacrifice, but we’re more than certain this show will be worth a visit!
