Haider Ackermann: Ready-To-Wear AW19

Sometimes the best things in life are kept simple. Haider Ackermann’s second co-ed collection reimagined simplicity. Cutting out the fuss, it was a understated lesson that less incredibly well cut and tailored pieces does most definitely equate to more. It’s the kind of collection that motivated you to do full-on Marie Kondo clear out of your wardrobe and promise to purchase more intelligently (and better fitting pieces) from here on out.

There was a seamlessness and fluid continuity between the clothes cut for the two genders via Ackermann’s use of the same fabrics for both the men’s and the womenswear. A cohesion compounded further by the colour palette, which made a strong case for monochromes and scarlet blood-like red that ran almost exclusively throughout with the exception of a peppering of gold, green and camel. Complexions were pallid and hair tightly slicked back for all, with the addition of a crudely pronounced cat winged eyeliner for the women. Completely vampy yet totally chic. Viva la vampire.
