Who’s ready for the Olympic games? Kicking off this Friday in Tokyo, this year will see skateboarding recognised as an official Olympic sport for the first time ever. A mood for celebration, Guess Originals has chosen to spotlight the sport with its Summer Games 2021 collection.
Heading into the archive, the brand has resurfaced a series of vintage graphics from the Guess 1989 Worldwide collection especially for this capsule collection. Featuring 48 pieces in total, the collection channels the brand’s All American heritage.
The vintage-inspired co-ed collection modernises Guess’ enzyme washes and soft prints while keeping the original graphics the same, paying homage to its 40-year history. Sport can unite nations, and the Olympic games are no different – with Guess dedicating this collection to peace and harmony amongst these turbulant times.
The collection’s skate-full campaign features stand-out professional skaters Alex Midler, Boo Johnson, and Ish Cepeda showing off their board skills at the colourful skateparks of LA. The range offers a wide selection of pieces including tees, sweat sets and jackets for men, and dresses, tops and embroidered denim for women, completing the collection with a ton of unisex accessories like hats, socks and bags. Fancy yourself a bit of a Tony Hawk in the making? This collection’s for you.
