Despite most stores across the UK now opening their doors to customers again, the retail experience has in no way went back to normal. Aside from queues spaced two-metres apart and one-in-one-out door policies, most stores are unable to offer customers the opportunity to try on clothes, shoes and accessories before buying them. Luckily, Gucci has found a solution. Collaborating with social media giant Snapchat, the Italian luxury house has introduced pioneering augmented reality technology that allows customers to try on Gucci shoes without actually putting them on their feet. All you have to do is click on the Snapchat Lens within the app, choose the pair of shoes you would like to try on, point the camera towards your feet and hey presto! Four pairs of trainers are available to view through the AR feature, and if you like what you see, you can simply click the “shop now” button which takes you directly to Gucci’s website. It’s as simple as that. Welcome to the future of fashion, we wonder how long it will be until we don’t have to wear shoes at all?
The Gucci Snapchat Lenses are available to users around the world in the US, UK, France, Italy, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Japan.
