And after the show it’s the after party. Just in time for the grand finale of fashion month, Gucci are dropping their Cruise 2020 ad campaign. We’re all off to an opulent bash, where the dress code is #ComeAsYouAre and there’s no RSVP essential. In true Alessandro Michele style, everyone’s invited. All ages and states of undress are not only acceptable, but desirable. This is a party like they all should be – fun, liberating and full of unexpected twists and turns.
Celebrity guests on every corner, giving their best 1980s eccentric glam across the many halls of Villa La Furibonda in Rome. Actress Sienna Miller is stuck in the kitchen, making sure all stuffed tomatoes have exactly six prawns poking out of them. Iggy Pop is rolling up in a stretch limo, before changing into a pair of micro shorts and being in charge of party tricks. And is that rapper Gucci Mane? Yep, he’s just nipped out for a quick massage session in the recreation room. Joined by the usual Gucci gang of models representing all generations of brand’s fandom, the wild times are captured by Harmony Korine’s camera, sneakily making sure every moment is eternalised. Because let’s be real – who is actually gonna remember what happened when morning comes? The night ends with everyone jumping into the swimming pool, their feathers and sequins appropriately refreshed for the next day. This is Gucci after all – the party never stops…
