Last night the great, the good and the glamourous flocked to Gucci private supper party in New York, like moths to a flame, or our Junior Fashion Editor to the latest issue of Esquire Magazine. (Don’t ask.) The party, whose guests included Karen Elson, Jefferson Hack, Derek Blasberg, Leandra Medine, Harley Viera Newton and Leigh Lezark, was thrown to celebrate Gucci’s cruise 2016 collection which debuted earlier that day. The collection itself was Alessandro Michele’s first cruise offering for the brand and was, for all intensive purposes, a success; a very flouncy success. Because what do you call a collection with pussy bows and berets, brocade and appliqué, ruffles, frills and fur trimmings if not flouncy? Fabulously, fantastically flouncy.
