Last night was the Grammys which, apart from music awards meant one thing – red carpet fashion. And according to my sources (Twitter), two trends dominated the red carpet this year: tits and trousers. Beyonce, Iggy Azalea and Nicki Minaj subscribed to the first. Bey in Proenza, Iggy in Giorgio Armani and Nicki (just about) in a gown by Tom Ford. These ladies were not so much smuggling raisins as they were melons. As for trousers, Gwen Stefani wore a pair a la Donatella Versace and Charlie XCX wore a pair as part of a mother-of-pearl tuxedo by Jeremy Scott for Moschino. Aside from that, Rita Ora shined bright like a disco ball in custom-made gown by Prada and Madonna was clad in a kinky, also-custom-made number by Givenchy which included thigh-high boots and bi(cep)-high evening gloves, both in leather. She looked anything but like a virgin. And finally, Rihanna wore a meringue dress in brink pink by Giambattista Valli. And in other non-fashion-related news, Sam Smith was crowned “the new Adele” and Kanye stormed the stage, in outrage over Album of the Year being awarded to Beck, not Beyonce. Oh Kanye.
