Gosha Rubchinskiy Shoots Topman’s New Campaign

Shot against a typical Gosha brick wall as well as a not-so-typical Gosha polished colourama, we’re treated to an unexpected combination of the trusty Topman, here imagined through the lens of our favourite designer and photographer of the moment, Gosha Rubchinsky. A match made in menswear heaven. It’s modern – a manifestation of the youth culture references that are just about everywhere at the moment. In fact, the skate belts with those big rectangular metal buckles that circa 2003 caused Jack and I to reminisce over our younger years are back. I used to have a khaki Quicksilver one, shockingly worn with black school trousers for a rebellious edge, and Jacks was tan. ’Sand, actually.’ I stand corrected. Stylist Max Permain also teamed delicate lace shirts with long-sleeved tops and flamboyant leopard print coats with hoodies. “And?” (the comeback of all school comebacks) – the models “Yeah what” faces are the way to wear such garments. If you’re going to own a leopard print coat you need to own wearing a leopard print coat. I’ve also been in the market for the perfect double-breasted jacket for years, and now it can be mine, along with other fav looks most notably the ‘wintry walk with your aunt on boxing day chic’ thick fleece zip ups, also perfect for office hibernation.
