When Clare Waight Keller took over as the artistic director of Givenchy early last year, the house also went fully co-ed. The Givenchy couple that is the foundation of the house’s aesthetic showed off their garms together, with the campaigns and shows celebrating both genders. The latest SS19 collection took inspiration from the Swiss writer Annemarie Schwarzenbach’s gender-fluid style, which allowed Waight Keller to push her vision of gender duality even further. But after showcasing men’s and womenswear together for three seasons, this coming January will mark Givenchy’s AW19 menswear offering in a standalone presentation at Paris men’s fashion week. Then, in June, the house will make a return to the runway with the SS20 collection. But don’t fear, menswear will continue to be shown together in the ready-to-wear womenswear and couture collections too. It’s always about a complete package at Givenchy.
The Givenchy men’s wear presentation will be held in Paris on January 16th 2019.
