Gypsy skirts, fondant tulle rainbows and playful transparencies – Giorgio Armani surprised his audience with a folksy themed Armani Prive show. The designer channeled pure prettiness into the most sophisticated clothes. He used ice cream coloured tulle in abundance to create flounced gypsy skirts worn with crystal mesh vests. Armani is the master of elegance – his signature jackets (that shoulder line is instantly recognisable and second to none!) were cut close to the body and worn with wide trousers draped with a veil of sheer tulle. The tailoring acted as a serious counterpoint to the delicate gowns and that was the lasting impression. As the models twirled in their dancing skirts it all looked so light, delicate and dreamy.
