When it comes to power, success, charisma and twinkly blue eyes, Giorgio Armani has it all – in spades. He’s also pretty spectacular in the frock-designing department. That’s why, at 83, he’s still one of our favourite people. And why we asked him to tell us who his were.
“Lauren Hutton is a great friend and, with American Gigolo, was my first collaboration in the world of film. But I already knew Lauren. I truly think I was one of her first admirers – I noticed her when she was a successful model in America but wasn’t that well known yet in Italy. I immediately wanted her to walk the runway for me because I found her – and still do – to be a symbol of beauty and a real, true woman. I love her face and eyes and the way she carries herself as a modern woman. I really appreciate our friendship.”
