Giorgio Armani Book Launch

How does one celebrate the 40th anniversary of one’s brand? Well, release your autobiography of course. We hope to write an autobiography one day. But so far there is very little evidence that we would ever warrant such a tome. But Giorgio Armani certainly has. So that’s what he’s doing with his Rizzoli-published book, entitled simply “Giorgio Armani”. Because a man like this needs no other introduction. But this is no self-indulgent project, oh no, that’s not Armani’s style. “I’m a man who gets things done, not one who just talks about them – a man of action, not of celebration or, worse still, self-celebration,” he said. But there is still plenty to celebrate – the book touching on his personal life, creative milestones and the process behind his iconic collections. All written by the man himself, sitting alongside images by Craig McDean, Aldo Fallai and Peter Lindbergh. It’s being presented today in Milan by none other than Suzy Menkes, after which it will go on sale. So go forth and buy. For what better person is there to learn from? We can’t think of many.
