GIAMBATTISTA VALLI: COUTURE SPRING/SUMMER 2014
The girls look like actual flowers. How pretty. Pretty flowers. Happy, pretty, beautiful examples of Mother Nature’s wonderful creations, don’t you think? Certainly not for tomboys but although it’s girly, it’s clean – the satins and pastels are balanced out by some sharp lines and angles, along with a bit of well placed black both in the clothes and on the face. It seems Giambattista has found an unlikely source of inspiration in Contrary Mary, creating his own garden of delights. No weird silver bells and cockle shells here, Mary love, but lots of pretty maids all in a row.
