Gabriela Hearst: Ready-To-Wear SS24

Later this month, Gabriela Hearst will debut her final collection as Chloé’s creative director. Though her tenure was short lived, the designer’s sustainably-minded collections ushered in a new era for the Parisian house; one that cherished deadstock fabrics, worked with local artisans globally and quickly earned the brand B Corp Certification (the first luxury house to achieve such).

These qualities have all been integral to Hearst’s namesake label for the past 8 years. Her latest outing saw her work with Bolivian craftspeople on a series crocheted dresses and propose sandals that come with biodegradable soles. In the realm of quiet luxury, Hearst has always designed through a whisper, not a shout. This season’s buttery leather twinsets, hourglass suits and sculptural cocktail dresses will sure keep her loyal fanbase happy, as will a series of shoppers with a fringed, crochet curtaining their exterior. There’s a lot to admire about Hearst’s devotion to craft.
