The new Dior Chrono sneaker was made for the gorp guys and girlies. Releasing the techy sport shoe as part of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s Fall 2024 collection, these are trainers that fuse athleticism with the tender femininity and indelible savoir fair the French house is famous for.
Embedded on the tongue of the shoe is a powerful brand motif, the lucky star, which is frequently seen across the Dior’s ready-to-wear collections and accessories. An homage to Monsieur Christian Dior who stumbled upon a metal star on Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris on his way to a meeting with Marcel Boussac, the lucky star symbolises Boussac’s agreement, during that same meeting, to finance the now iconic fashion house. Seeing it as a kind of good luck charm for bringing about abundance and fortune, it’s the perfect adornment for these shining new shoes.
The ‘CD’ monogram similarly punctuates the sides of the shoes, which feature eye-catching three-tone laces coupled with a dynamic mixture of fishnet and laminated leather-effect panels. Available in enchanting colourways that border on nostalgic – mixed metallics reminiscent of the Y2K era, classic white, black and beige – these kicks fit right in with Dior’s house codes.
Futuristic but function-focussed, you can thank your lucky stars (pun intended) that these kicks are ready for the taking because, featuring a lightweight, supple sole that’s exceedingly comfortable, the Chrono is a great option whether you’re running a marathon or running errands.
Hit the ground running and treat yourself to the Chrono via Dior’s website here or at a Dior boutique near you.
