We’re tearing our eyes away from the sight of a Prada-clad Kerry Washington at the Met Gala to bring you news of the Fondazione Prada’s opening. Prestigious artists were there aplenty to celebrate the opening of the Rem Koolhaas-converted century-old distillery in Milan, from Damien Hirst to Jeff Koons, Steve McQueen and Anish Kapoor. Naturally Miuch was there too, looking Cheddar Gorge, natch. Robert Gober and Thomas Demand are inaugurating the arts centre, with some site-specific installations and Roman Polanski is screening a new documentary aside other films. Then there’s an exhibition, opening May 9, titled ‘Serial Classic’, which brings together a selection of art works from the Prada Collection. If ever there was a reason to endure an EasyJet flight to Milan it was this. A veritable feast for art-hungry eyes.
