Fendi: Menswear AW24

Like the rest of us, it seems as though Silvia Venturini Fendi might have spent the last few weeks binging the last season of Netflix’s ‘The Crown’. Not only was Ed McVey – the actor who plays Prince William as he steps into adulthood – sat on the front row, but her AW24 Fendi menswear collection found surprising inspiration in the wardrobe of another royal.

The outdoorsy garb favoured by Princess Anne was a starting point for the designer, who peppered her latest outing with a dash of Balmoral flair. “A Fendi life is one lived between town and country,” read the show notes, as Venturini Fendi proposed ace waxy leather coats with corduroy collars, buttery-smooth bucket hats and handsome knitted polo shirts.

All in a warm palette of forest green, navy and burgundy, with delightful flashes of lemon yellow and raspberry, the designer cleverly gave dressing for drizzly winter days a laddish look. The big standouts were drop-crotch, culottes that danced above wellies as if they were kilts, as well as the new the Siesta bag which comes in leather and adopts a pillow-like shape – prepped and primed to have you looking the part both walking through the countryside and strutting down inner-city streets alike.
