A travelling salesman, fond of trips abroad, and, who is possibly a pervert, sets off to work in a see-through mesh-y trouser. You can see his pants. Absolute hotness.
It was a great Fendi AW19 show packed with tons of cool and beautifully executed garments. In parts, it felt like a coming together of snapshots of a well-dressed man, seen sometime in the early 1970s. The snappy styling helped along with luxe-y leather handbags and shoppers, some of which came in voile, gave the whole thing a camp edge. But cool. And those gold chains hanging off those glasses were something else. And was that a Head Porter Tokyo x Fendi bag collab? Yes! Watch the hype sites wet themselves over this lot. And the brand’s faithful customers.
Fendi has established itself as one of the golden ticket shows for Milan men’s fashion week. It’s a place for new ideas and wit. But most of all it is about beautifully crafted product – the atelier works with only the best tailors and pattern cutters and the fabrics are unparalleled. The ideas behind every collection, which designer Silvia Venturini Fendi mashes together to create a kind of Tumblr page of inspiration, always coalesce into a sort of menswear soup. But, and it’s a big one, Fendi always *always* grounds her ideas in a modern, modular and luxury wardrobe. Everything you see, here, is interchangeable with everything else. And everything else you’ve ever bought in her shop.
It’s all so very clever.
