Emilio Pucci: Ready-to-wear AW17

Massimo Giorgetti’s Emilio Pucci sure knows how to pack a punch, and AW17 was no exception. Should we do a colour check? Acid green, tangerine and highlighter pink were but three of the hues that sashayed down the equally colourful paisley runway. And there were plenty of paisley prints scattered throughout (kaftans, wrap dresses, trailing gowns) leading us to conclusion that this season was about a Sixties lady holidaying in, say… Marrakech? Check those long, spidery lashes in white, green, orange etc co-ordinating with the looks. Talk about dedication. There were even matchy-matchy printed suitcases wheeling alongside the girls. And what would any holiday be without a good hat? Amping up last seasons raffia creation, these ones came with fringed tendrils hanging all the way down to the waist. Perfect if you can’t be bothered with SPF or you’re just a shy Sheila. If, on the other hand, you’re the type to have all eyes on you, perhaps I could interest you in one of the transparent plastic coats that closed the show? Naturally, they were covered in hundreds of tiny coloured crystals. Subtle. So down with the roof, on with the Cliff, and, altogether now… “we’re all going on a summer holiday…”
