“Flats are having a bit of a moment this season” said Jack after Emilia Wickstead’s AW17 show. And he’s not wrong there. Flats here, there, everywhere. Which may lead you to the conclusion that Emilia Wickstead was not sexy. But flats can be sexy too. Even in their black laced-up sandals, the ladies floated above the ground. As if she were walking amongst the clouds. Heaven sent. Angelic. But also grounded. It doesn’t make sense, but here it did. She was a romantic type. Puffy sleeves on her floral blouse. Or her bubblegum pink Renaissance lady get-up. Even in her daywear, jeans paired with a faux off the shoulder top. Sweet enough to pretend to show off skin, but shy enough to cover it up with pink satin. Don’t count her out of a party though, she knows how to get down too. Check the Swarovski sequin dress with a sexy cut out back detail. Flats, heels, who cares. She was every woman.
