ELSA SCHIAPARELLI: CHRISTIAN LACROIX- ‘ A LOVE DECLARATION TO ELSA’
Just as our amazing new team member Matteo had drafted a post on the speculation of Christian Lacroix (Schweedy Lacroix)’s new work at Schiaparelli, I’ve been forced to gazump him with this post- as something officials landed on my desk. As the king of flounces been absent from fashion schedules since my own coming of age, and entering into this funny place they call the world of fashion, I’m BEYOND excited by the designers forthcoming celebration of this late icons work. On the program, 15 unique creations paying homage, at her historical workshop address -21 Place Vendome. Christian comments on this epic occasion set for July: ‘Elsa is a sacred sphinge who never ceases to interrogate us while offering us new enigmas as answers. Art, theater and cinema… my wish is to reposition Elsa at the center of her maison and on the stage from which she once seduced the world.’ And guess what? This is just the first in a sucession of annual rendezvous being planned with a different, but equally important contemporary creative each time. So stay tuned Tenners.
