Eckhaus Latta: Ready-To-Wear SS24

Wearability has never been a dirty word in Eckhaus Latta’s vocabulary. Designers Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta have utilised their art school roots over the past decade to give everyday dress a distinctive, experimental bent, all whist envisioning collections that are highly sellable.

The pair’s SS24 outing saw them double down on their signatures: ace denim, sheer shirting and arty knits, each laced with a delightfully awkward sort of kinkiness. Taking over the marble-coated foyer of the 45 Rockefeller Plaza, models emerged from a pair of escalators in lace frocks, distressed trousers, shiny-coated jeans and denim skirts that zipped entirely the way up, past the crotch. The designers worked with leather for the first time too, utilising deadstock from Portugal to craft dresses, trousers and bomber jackets. They also took to collaborating with Unspun on a series of wide-legged jeans – woven with Unspun’s latest fashion technology, a 3D weaving machine called Vega – that glistened as models paraded through the iconic New York landmark. Though rooted in dressing day-to-day life, there’s nothing mundane about Eckhaus Latta.
