The Best Easter Releases To Sink Your Teeth Into

This Easter, fashion asks of its fans just one simple thing – don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. From melt-in-the-mouth chocolates to drool-worthy centrepieces, there is something, or maybe a few things, for everyone amongst this round-up of Easter goodies. Go on, treat yourself…

MARCHESI 1824 TAKES FLIGHT

When picking your Easter egg this year, you might as well pay up for this year’s Marchesi 1824 offering. Led by the theme dubbed The Return of the Swallows, an ode to the iconic vision of the bird in flight, the decadent collection is an exercise in chocolateering tradition. From this stringent research into the recipes of chocolate-making past comes the harmonious and aromatic Venezuela 74 per cent cocoa mass. This has been used to immersive ends, manifesting in 400-gram Easter eggs combining refined flavours such as pistachio and raspberry, hazelnut and lemon and almond and orange. The Prada-owned bakery is also breathing new life into the traditional colombe Easter bread with unique variations ranging from chocolate, sour cherries and almonds, to apricot, ginger and amaretti. A SURREAL DIOR EASTER

What came first – the chicken, the egg or the plate? Just as Jonathan Anderson turned to the 18th century for his Dior debut last summer, the French house is returning to the era for Easter with the release of a new decorative plate. Inspired by 18th-century trompe-l’œil art, the ceramic piece depicts a life-like chocolate hen surrounded by miniature eggs in blue, yellow and green. The dish is a gastronomic homage to childlike wonder and the joy of the palate which sits nicely alongside the rest of the trompe-l’œil collection featuring a nutty selection, a copy of Dracula and three white eggs. The plate is available in selected boutiques worldwide, including the New Bond Street store and Harrods in London. That’s your Easter dinner centrepiece sorted. JH

Italian delicacy is replicated in every bite, from delicate shortbread to sophisticatedly smooth milk chocolate, with notes of apricot, pistachio, vanilla and citrus flashing throughout the collection. Encased in beautifully green floral boxes, these treats are a breath of fresh air this Easter season. Satiate that sweet tooth hereLillie Elston

LOUIS VUITTON HAS GOT IT IN THE BAG

Ever loved a Louis Vuitton bag so much, you wished you could eat it? Well, now you can. Inside the Louis Vuitton chocolatier, much melting and whisking has been undertaken to create a Chocolate Egg Bag – made from dark chocolate and filled to the brim with roasted nuts, candied fruit and hazelnut praline. It unzips to reveal a bar of hazelnut-praline-lemon-caramel tinged chocolate. A fan of something more miniature perhaps? LV have also served up a box of mini bag chocolates in mixed flavour combinations – from vanilla and caramel to peanut and hazelnut praline. To top off this sweet treat collection is a deliciously adorable box of chocolate chicks featuring a dark choc filled with buckwheat praline, a milk choc filled with oat praline and another milk choc with corn praline.
