Dover Street Market and Selfridges collaborate On a Jewellery Space

2 Become 1 was Spice Girls’ third single. It reached number one on the UK Singles Chart and was the band’s first Christmas hit. 2 Become 1 is also the song we’ve been humming since we heard the news that Dover Street Market and Selfridges are working together on a retail baby in the form of a new jewellery edit. In case you haven’t been informed, Selfridges have completely re-done their Accessories Hall. Designed by British architect David Chipperfield, the 300 square metres of utter fabulosity has just re-opened on the ground floor and it’s officially the biggest luxury accessories space in the world. There’s a completely new and massive eyewear section featuring probably every pair of sunglasses you could ever imagine, as well as The Progressive Edit, a space dedicated to all those hawt pieces that are bound to sell out asap. This edit also features a few shiny cabinets filled with DSM-curated jewellery. Now, isn’t that f*cking amazing? Two retail giants coming together, combining their approaches to shopping and making one sparkly, Transformer-esque luxury mutant.

A mix of fine and costume jewellery was carefully selected by our pals from Haymarket and positioned in the high-street luxury world of Oxford Street, creating a unique collision of the two very different worlds. And by different, we mean West and East of Oz kinda different. The jewellery on show includes everything from Bibi Van Der Velden’s animalistic diamonds all the way to classic masc4masc Bamford watches. And the best thing is – the space will constantly be updated with new pieces. Marking the first time Dover Street Market jewellery left its London flagship location as well as the first showcase of the Selfridges jewels outside their Wonder Room, this collab is one of those historical retail moments you’ll be telling your kids about. But for now – to Oxford Street, we go!
