The Eternal City is a constant source of inspiration for Dolce & Gabbana, which showed its most highly crafted collections, Alta Moda and Alta Gioielleria, in the city in July. The clothes took their cues from the golden age of 1950s Italian cinema as well as the Renaissance and baroque architecture of the Spanish Steps,the Trevi Fountain and the Trinità dei Monti church. The jewellery went further back in time, echoing the round arches, pediments, colonnades and capitals of ancient Rome. Embodying the look was eternal fashion muse Kristen McMenamy. One of a kind in every sense.
