DOLCE & GABBANA: THE A/W14 SHOW
Fast forward to 10:06 and you’ll see my highlight of Messrs Dolce and Gabbana’s A/W14 show. Down the runway floats a model in a flowing floral robe. As the red fabric billows out behind her, she begins to resemble some sort of enormous butterfly. But as the camera zooms in on her face I realise that she is not a butterfly, she a fairy. More precisely, she is Titania who, for those of you well versed in Shakespeare will know, is Queen of the Fairies in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Married to Oberon (King of the Fairies), Titania is a very proud creature. And despite having a brief romance with a donkey, is supremely poised at all times. See how the she gently flaps her wings as she wafts down the runway. That’s the fairy equivalent to the royal wave. Titania is proud, poised and regal. Like all Dolce and Gabbana girls.
