And now for the boys. Boys boys boys. They look best in Dolce & Gabbana, Sartoria style. But we’ve been knew. It was all about D&G this weekend, the Alta Moda show followed by the Alta Sartoria show. The men took over Villa Carlotta for the occasion. Why? Stefano and Domenico loved it. Why else. Conveniently, it’s also in Lake Como (following on from the women’s show) located at the top of one of the most over the top beautiful gardens in Europe, with views of Bellagio and the mountains surrounding the lake. Ideal. And very Dolce. The collection was entirely inspired by the Villa, it’s art, it’s residents (Napoleon, a Prussian princess’s daughter Carlotta). The men walked through the rooms, through the garden with a string quartet sound-tracking their streamline. Idyllic. The Dolce man is the dream already, this time he wears embroidered floral pastel suits, all white looks because they’re oh so pure, prints of perfect landscapes, tiger printed collars and floral headpieces. It’s all happening. So suave and chic, the Villa Carlotta is their obvious home. They belong in all the rich and regal royalty of it, glinting golden crowns perched rightly on heads and robes/capes fell long and luxuriously. Yes, it’s all about the luxury. That’s the Dolce & Gabbana way.
