DOLCE & GABBANA: MILAN FASHION WEEK S/S14

The title of the collection was visions amongst temples in ancient Sicily. So today the kings of Sicilian inspired fashion, took an imaginary journey to rediscover ancient Sicily where history and Myth come together. Elements of architecture appeared as prints on dresses and heels morphed into doric columns, gold coin dresses as if found in a treasure chest jangled as they moved down the catwalk. The golden theme became my favorite element especially the gold beaded dresses. Also a soft feminine element became a strong theme in the form of orange and cherry blossom embroidery sprouted along bust lines and hems on structured tulle making it super fragile. Of course the polka dots also surfaced, which have become a staple of the collection and offered a commercial option. But always for me I like to languish in the fantasy world they created of golden lace glad women that feel like beautiful goddesses.
