Dolce & Gabbana are masters at the art of getting dressed to be undressed, creating the sort of clothes that exude potent sensuality. For their latest menswear collection, though, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana were thinking instead about what garments could take you from the bedroom out into inner city life.
Their building block was your classic pinstriped pyjama, elevated here into an elegant addition to your everyday wardrobe. On the menu was PJ twinsets, cut baggy and left crinkled, in a series of delightful colourways including muddy browns, dusty pinks, pistachios and classic blues. When paired with slouched fisherman jumpers and oversized tux jackets, your beloved home comforts suddenly became as suave as a classic suit trouser.
Things were taken up a notch when, at the end of the show, a series of pyjama sets with crystal embellishment graced the catwalk, taking your beloved jimjams to new heights. Add in mock croc leather jackets and oversized totes doused in animal print for good measure and you have a well-rounded wardrobe that turned the casual into something rather special.
